NDSU Composition Student Jon Meier Presents Senior Recital

Fargo, N.D. (April 18, 2025) — The Challey School of Music at North Dakota State University is proud to present the senior composition recital of Jon Meier on Saturday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The program features original works by Meier, showcasing a wide range of his compositional voice across solo instrumental and electronic media. Selections include:

Roseville (solo marimba, 2025)
Watauga / De Graff (piano, 2022 / 2023)
Summit / Corona (fixed media, 2024)
Averill (solo marimba, 2024)
Mountain Iron (solo marimba, 2023) — featuring Owen Cary, marimba
Beaver Creek Valley (solo marimba, 2025)

Jon Meier, born at a very young age in 2003, has developed a distinctive musical style during his studies at NDSU, blending rhythmic drive with an evocative sense of place and atmosphere. His works reflect a deep curiosity for sound and structure, drawing inspiration from both natural landscapes and personal exploration.
