NDSU Composition Student Percy Johnson Presents Composition Capstone Recital

Fargo, N.D. — The Challey School of Music at North Dakota State University is proud to present the Composition Capstone Recital of Percy Johnson on Thursday, May 1, at 5:30 p.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The recital will showcase a dynamic selection of dramatic, comedic, and instrumental works, highlighting Johnson's multifaceted approach to musical storytelling and composition. Audiences will experience a range of compositions, from intricate classical forms to contemporary electronic soundscapes.

Percy Johnson is a composer, performer, and theatre artist completing dual degrees in theatre and music at NDSU. They are the founder and lead of The Bear and the Whale Theatre Company, known for original theatrical productions that explore overlooked historical narratives. Johnson's composition credits include original scores for the musicals Yeshua and Twelfth Night, along with immersive instrumentals for fantasy tabletop games.

Beyond their creative work, Johnson serves as the Production Manager for Newfangled Theatre at NDSU and has professional experience in multimedia production, including roles as publishing editor, PR specialist, and videographer with the Bison Information Network.
